Announced by the Department of Canadian Heritage, the Canada Strong Pass makes it easier for everyone — especially young people and families — to explore our country and celebrate what makes Canada unique.
The pass is valid from June 19 to September 7, 2026, and applies to all visitors, regardless of citizenship.
There’s no need to book in advance or show a physical pass — just arrive at any participating location and enjoy the benefits.

Admission for children aged 17 and under is free while youth aged 18 to 24 will receive 50% off admission fees.

Experience each of our Parks Canada National Parks and National Historic Sites this summer!
All visitors to national parks, national historic sites and national marine conservation areas run by Parks Canada will receive free admission as well as a 25% discount on camping and overnight stay fees.
Visiting by boat? Boaters visiting St. Peters Canal National Historic Site, a historic waterway administered by Parks Canada on on Cape Breton Island, will receive free lockage for boats, canoes and kayaks.

Whether you’re from Nova Scotia, across Canada or visiting from abroad, the Canada Strong Pass is a great reason to get out and explore.
The Canada Strong Pass also includes free and discounted travel fares with VIA Rail. Children and youth under age 17 can travel free with an accompanying adult. Young adults ages 18 – 24 can save 25% off.
These offers are valid on Escape and Economy fares in Economy class for travel aboard VIC Rail between June 19 – September 7, 2026.
