Boxing Rock was founded in 2012 by two engineers with a passion for craft beer, Henry Pedro & Emily Tipton. We love beer for the challenge of designing a good one as much as for the pleasure of drinking it. That’s why we got into brewing in the first place. To us, brewing is a test of wits, innovation and technology and the practice of an age-old craft steeped in tradition and folklore. We are both engineers and craftspeople, proudly offering you our inventions/creations.

According to local Folklore, Boxing Rock is where bickering seaman were left by their captain to sort out their differences. The choice: box until only one could return to the ship or shake hands and share a beer.  Either way, there is only a few short hours until high tide.  We Say Drink Up!

Our taproom located on 218 Water Street, offers delicious food that complements our beers. You can book beer experiences, learn about beer and even throw an axe! Please visit our website or give us a call to book. Fridays nights we are fortunate to have several local musicians to play a few tunes, and during the summer we offer special events .

We are proud to brew our beer on the South Shore of Nova Scotia in beautiful Shelburne.
