Overview
A great summer getaway! Bright View Cottage is a delightful seaside family cottage with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Take a walk to the beach, swim, relax to the sound of the surf, and listen to the seals. Enjoy expansive views of Lockeport Harbour and spectacular sunsets from both decks.
On the eastern shore of Lockeport Harbour, Bright View Cottage is located in the sparsely populated seaside community of East Ragged Island. Ruggedly beautiful, the immediate area is stunning. 20 minutes from the nearest town, Bright View Cottage is secluded but not isolated. It is about a 20 minute dive to the closest town of Lockeport. Lockeport is home to 3 distinct beaches: Crescent Beach, Freddy’s Beach and Col. Locke’s Beach as well as a number of restaurants and shops. The historic town of Shelburne, known for its museums, restaurants, theatre and harbour is about 30 minutes by car. Liverpool, Lunenburg, Chester and Mahone Bay and Yarmouth are all within easy day tripping distance. Closer to home – it is a 2 minute walk from the house to the beach – perfect for that early morning run, or an afternoon relaxing on the sand or playing in the ocean. At the end of the day, return home to a seafood cook out on the deck and spectacular sunset.
Bright View Cottage has a bright open concept design with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable living room, spacious dining area, office nook, and a 4 piece bathroom that includes laundry facilities. The living room has a large picture window that looks out over the harbour. A sliding patio door leads out onto a large ground floor deck, lawn and beyond that, 14 acres of rugged beauty waiting to be explored as well as Eddies Beach – literally two minutes down the lane.
The cottage sleeps 5 people in 3 bedrooms. There is a queen size bed in the master bedroom, two twin beds in the second bedroom and a single twin bed in the third bedroom. A patio door leads from the master bedroom to the upper deck.
All bed linens and towels are provided. Bright View cottage has internet access. There is no TV. The cottage is pet friendly.
Safety
For the protection of our guests Covid-19 cleaning, health and safety protocols are followed. Where possible we blocked a full day between bookings in order for our cleaning staff clean and sanitize the space.
Minimum stay
5 to 7 days in July and August; 3 days in May, June, September and October

Payment Options
Deposit required at time of booking. Email Transfer is the preferred method of payment. Visa, MasterCard, or personal cheque in Canadian Dollars also accepted.
Cancellation Policy
50% refund for cancellations made at least 60 days before check-in. 25% refund for cancellation made between 30 and 60 days prior to check-in. No refunds for cancellations made within 30 days of check-in.
