1 Day 1: Pubnico & Tusket

Immerse yourself in Acadian culture at Le Village historique acadien de la Nouvelle-Écosse (Historical Acadian Village of Nova Scotia). This must-visit early 1900s Acadian seaside village is perched on a beautiful 17-acre site overlooking Pubnico Harbour. It showcases the joyful spirit, language, and culture of the Acadian people who have thrived here for more than 350 years.

Check out the “Living Wharves” program by stopping by the Dennis Point Wharf to meet with a local fisherman or fisherwoman. Living Wharves is a hands-on opportunity to discover the tools, skills, and seafaring tales of real-life fisherman and women from the region.

Continue to Argyler Lodge, a unique oceanfront lodge located in a fishing village overlooking Lobster Bay. Take a guided kayaking tour or a hands-on cooking class using ingredients fresh from the garden and sea. Spectacular sunsets from the airy wrap-around veranda are a must, as is hitting the beach for a seaside lobster boil.

Visit the Tusket Islands for history and folklore. Discover stories ranging from the lobster and tuna fishing industry, to World War II spies, shipwrecks, buried treasure, and much more. 2 Day 2: Yarmouth & Kemptville

Take a historic walking tour of the grand and colourful sea captain homes that were built between 1850 and 1900. Then check out the Sandford Draw Bridge, one of the smallest drawbridges in the world. Explore shops, cafes, restaurants, and craft breweries in downtown Yarmouth. Visit museums like the Firefighters’ Museum of Nova ScotiaW. Kemptville
