Evergreen House in Dartmouth is a restored Victorian home built in 1867 for Judge Alexander James, offering a beautiful panoramic view of Halifax Harbour and a fine example of a mid-Victorian gentleman’s residence. The house was also the former home of Dr. Helen Creighton, Nova Scotian author and folklorist. Evergreen House is furnished with period antiques and steeped in history, with both permanent and rotating exhibits from the museum’s collection. The Museum offers year-round group tours, gift shop, and parking. Evergreen House is operated by the Dartmouth Heritage Museum.
