Janet makes a wide variety of functional and artistic pottery pieces both on the wheel and handbuilt. She loves using unconventional textures, including pieces from nature, to make the surface of platters and dishes come alive. She designs many Maritime themed pieces that highlight the beautiful Atlantic seascape, including fish platters, wave patterns and shells – even mermaids! Her pottery features a unique combining of glazes resulting in vibrant colours making each mug, bowl, plate or even gnome absolutely one of a kind. Her studio is her happy place and her hope is that that joy shines through in each piece.

As a former educator, it brings me great joy to teach pottery to adults from my studio which is housed in a 200+ year old barn right in the heart of historic Shelburne. It is a place of inspiration, creativity and lots of laughter!
