Thinkers' Lodge National Historic Site

  • The Pugwash Conferences of Science and World Affairs got their start in 1957 when visionary industrialist Cyrus Eaton hosted 22 scientists from both sides of the Iron Curtain to discuss the threat of nuclear weapons
  • Declared a National Historic Site in 2008, the property’s historical significance is richly interpreted throughout the Lodge with the conference’s Nobel Medal and Lenin Peace Prize, both won by Cyrus Eaton, on display
