Open year-round
Located in the historic Killam Brothers Building on the Yarmouth waterfront, The Harbourfront Museum is a collection of galleries with a mission to share stories of our culturally diverse past, particularly the families of European and Middle Eastern descents who arrived in the late 1800s and established businesses and contributed to the economy and community life.
Visitors are invited to learn about the culture, heritage, and biodiversity of the five southwestern counties in Nova Scotia through interpretive and walking tours, videos and hands on activities.
The Killam Brothers Building was built in 1838 and is one of Canada’s oldest shipping offices. Learn the story behind the Killam ship and its famous voyage and how this building played a major role in the financial growth of Yarmouth and the area.
