Overview

Located along the LaHave River in the heart of downtown Bridgewater, discover Pijinuiskaq Park. Honouring our region’s deep connection to our Mi’kmaq ancestors, the park’s name – Pijinuiskaq (pronounced BE-JN-OO-IS-GAH) – is the traditional Mi’kmaw name for the LaHave River, which translates to “having long joints or branches.”

Open year-round, visit this riverside park to take in a concert, attend a festival, or to enjoy a picnic that you picked up from a nearby local eatery. In the summertime, be sure to bring along your canoe, kayak, or SUP to paddle the river from the floating docks. Sailboats and power boats frequent the park too – arriving by water, allowing boaters to pop into the shops and restaurants all along King and LaHave Streets.
