Explore Bridgewater via the Centennial Trail, an 8km, year round, multi-use trail. Use it to get around Bridgewater and enjoy natural, scenic vistas, along the edge – or over – the historic LaHave River, or as a gateway to more than 125kms of trails leading to Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, and beyond! Accessible to strollers and wheelchairs, and is suitable for hiking, jogging, cycling, cross country skiing and horse riding. It has been converted from the former CNR railway lines that loop the western part of Nova Scotia, and is part of the Trans Canada Trail, one of the world’s longest networks of multi-use recreation trails.
One of the main focal points on the Centennial Trail is the bridge crossing the LaHave River. The majestic view and picnic tables make this a favourite spot for users to rest, and it’s especially beautiful in the fall.
