Overview

Located in Cape Breton Highlands National Park, this campground has 8 overnight unserviced sites in an open backcountry campground. Explore the12-km return hike to your campsite which sits alongside an ocean cove at the base of MacKenzie Mountain. GPS Location: N46 47.792 W60 52.471

No fires allowed and no potable water available; bring camp stove and water, pack out garbage.

Campground services:

  • Pit privies; bring your own toilet paper.
  • Bear pole provided to safely store food and animal attractants

Reservations required through the Parks Canada Reservation System;  check-in at a Parks Canada Visitor Centre, or by phoning 902-224-2306, to obtain your backcountry permit.

Park is open year-round but full visitor services are only available from mid-May until mid-October.
