Nova Scotia’s spectacular coastal scenery provides the perfect setting for the filming of romantic drama Sullivan’s Crossing. Adapted from Robyn Carr’s novel series, the show follows Maggie, a dedicated neurosurgeon, as she returns to her childhood home of Timberlake, Nova Scotia and reconnects with family and friends. Peggy’s Cove

Featured in numerous scenic shots on Sullivan’s Crossing, the lighthouse is one of Nova Scotia’s most well-known lighthouses and may be the most photographed in Canada. Built in 1915, this historic lighthouse stands watch over the fishing village of Peggy’s Cove.

Hali Deli as Shandon’s Diner, Agricola Street, Halifax

Oakfield and Laurie Provincial Parks

On the show, Maggie’s father, Sully, owns Sullivan’s Crossing – a picturesque waterfront campground. In reality, Sullivan’s Crossing is brought to life, in part, with the help of scenes shot at Oakfield Provincial Park in Oakfield and nearby Laurie Provincial Park in Grand Lake.

Hatfield Farm Cowboy Adventures

Hatfield Farm Cowboy Adventures makes its appearance on Sullivan’s Crossing early on in season one, heavily featuring Hatfield Farm’s rodeo themed event space. Beyond its on-screen role, Hatfield Farm Cowboy Adventures offers a wide array of activities for visitors. The farm area is packed with family fun, featuring wagon and sleigh rides, animal petting pens, pony rides, and a playground – all conveniently located just outside Halifax.

Fisherman’s Cove, Eastern Passage

In season two of Sullivan’s Crossing, Fisherman’s Cove plays a memorable role. With views of Halifax Harbour, seafood restaurant Boondocks appears as a backdrop for a community gathering, while the Fisherman’s Cove wharf sets the stage for characters to enjoy a mouth-watering plate of fish and chips. Later, two characters are seen exploring the area’s vibrant, colourful shops. Just a short drive from downtown Halifax, this quaint fishing village offers visitors a stroll on the picturesque boardwalk at MacCormacks Beach Provincial Park with views of McNabs and Lawlor Islands Provincial Park. Remember the very first episode of season one when Maggie is removed from the awards ceremony gala? The location used for this scene is the ballroom at the Prince George Hotel. Located in the heart of downtown Halifax, this 203-room hotel accommodation is located within walking distance of the Halifax Waterfront, picturesque Public Gardens, Neptune Theatre, Scotiabank Centre, the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, numerous local restaurants and pubs featuring live music.
