Mountain biking in Nova Scotia is gaining in popularity with trails and parks available for all ages and experience levels. Pack up your bike, your helmet and your sense of adventure and check out these five popular places to mountain bike.

Keppoch Mountain

Formerly a downhill skiing hill, today this facility has transitioned nicely into a four season outdoor recreation destination, including 30 kilometres of purpose built mountain biking trails. Whether riders are just starting into the sport or are experienced, the trails offer something for all skill levels, ranging from 500 metres to 5 kilometres in length. Races, family friendly events and other site amenities like hiking and snowshoeing trails and lake access for swimming and fishing round out the experience at Keppoch.

The Gorge, Kentville

This network of trails has an offering for any skill level. From beginner to expert, mountain bikers will find a challenging trail to suit their riding style and comfort level. Conveniently located in the Town of Kentville, trail users will find a picnic area, skills park, parking lot and bike repair station right off the main entrance on Gladys Porter Drive. Walking and hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails are also on site.

The Railyard Mountain Bike Park, Truro

Located at the southern end of popular Victoria Park, mountain bikers will be thrilled when checking out the 96 mountain bike trails available here. From a pump track to double black diamond, riders are sure to be challenged and get their adrenaline pumping. Centrally located in Truro, this bike park is only about a one hour drive from Halifax and several points along the Northumberland Shore.

Ukme’k Trail at Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site

This recently opened, moderately difficult mountain biking trail at Kejimkujik offers a 6.3 kilometre ride through this idyllic national park. Along the twisting, forested trail, enjoy views of the Mersey River while being challenged by rock crossings, berms, and rollers. This shared use trail makes for the perfect added adventure to your Kejimkujik camping trip. Visitor services available May-October.

Wentworth Mountain Bike Trails

Opened in Fall 2021, these trails continue to gain in popularity with riders. Situated near Ski Wentworth in the Wentworth Valley, this trail network, currently consisting of four trails, is continuing to be developed. Once finalized, ten trails will be available for riders to enjoy.
