Hop aboard the Tancook Island Ferry, a free passenger ferry that travels between the Chester waterfront and Big Tancook Island, a pretty island located approximately 10 km (6 miles) from Chester. The ferry takes about 30 – 50 minutes to arrive on Big Tancook. Pack a picnic and wear comfortable walking shoes as you explore this charming island on foot. You’ll see a busy fishing community as well as area attractions including beaches, and Wishing Stones Studio & Gallery. Be sure to watch the time so you can catch a ferry returning to Chester.
