Take off from the Halifax International Airport to Nova Scotia’s coastal capital city, Halifax. See spectacular views of modern architecture mixed with historic buildings, and get a bird’s eye view inside the walls of Halifax’s star shaped fort overlooking the city. Soar over white granite coastlines with crystal-clear turquoise waters. Look for sunbathing seal colonies, flocks of seabirds, and small islands dotting the coast. You’ll have Sambro Island to yourself as you explore the sparkling granite coastline and pathways through flowing grasses.

• Helicopter flight: Take in the magnificent coast from the air, must-see sights of Halifax, and Sambro Island and lighthouse. This exclusive Heli-Picnic is 2 hours in total, including flight time with Vision Air Services.
• Exclusive access to Sambro Island: Be welcomed to Sambro Island, home of the oldest working lighthouse in North America. Feel the fresh ocean breezes, enjoy the sounds of crashing waves and capture rare photo opportunities.
• Private picnic: Surrounded by sounds of the sea, savour Nova Scotian wine, selected just for you, along with local charcuterie, cheeses, bread and fresh fruit – all while taking in the breathtaking ocean views.

• Donation: A portion of proceeds from this tour are donated to the Sambro Island Lighthouse Heritage Society that helps protect and preserve Sambro Island and the lighthouse.

Price: $775 + HST per person for two people; $675 + HST per person for three or four people

Availability: Tours are available all year round, dependent on weather conditions. Due to migratory bird season, Sambro Island is unavailable from May 1 – July 15. During this time period an alternate island, along the same coastline, will be used for your Heli-Picnic experience.
