Bison Farm Adventure: Tour & Dine

Watch majestic bison roam the land on a farm tour with the Teerling family, before dining lakeside on a German-inspired 3-course farm-to-table meal.

Leave the hustle and bustle of city life behind and step into the heart of authentic farm living. Breathe in the fresh air and hear the soothing sounds of nature as you meet the Teerling family and learn about their extraordinary journey from Germany to Nova Scotia. Their story is a testament to resilience, passion, and the unwavering belief in following one’s dreams against all odds.

While touring the farm, you’ll learn about their farming practices, meet the Clydesdale horses, and see the majestic bison herd roaming the farm. You can also learn about the large machinery that keeps the farm developing it’s agricultural pastures, buildings, and forests. This is a unique, personable, adventurist experience like no other.

Following the tour, you’ll gather around the table for a delicious 3-course farm-to-table meal, prepared and hosted by owner Kitty Teerling.

Experience Includes:

• Guided 2-hour tour of Lindsay Lake Farms to hear the story of the Teerling family, who moved their commercial farm from Germany to Nova Scotia. Learn about their farming practices, meet the animals, and interact with their Clydesdale horses and Bison herd.
• 3-course gourmet farm-to-table meal with a German-style, farm-raised bison-themed menu, either al fresco (weather permitting) or inside their barn event space, overlooking Lindsay Lake.

Dates Offered: Sundays at 2:00pm from January 15 – April 30, 2025, based on availability

Price: $250 per person

Make your experience a getaway by booking a 2-night stay at the onsite Moose River Cottage, a fully renovated 3-bedroom farmhouse, surrounded by blueberry fields for an additional $805. The cottage sleeps 4-6 people.

Conditions:

Advance booking required. Minimum of 4 guests required for package to be offered. Maximum of 10. Minimum stay at Moose River Cottage is 2 nights. The cottage has a maximum of 6 guests. All prices are per person, in CAD $. 15% HST/GST is included. Payment due upon booking. 2-weeks’ notice required for date changes. Based on availability. Cancellations: If the experience must be cancelled or rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances (such as extreme weather conditions or operational issues), customers will be given the option to reschedule their booking for a later date or receive a full refund. If a customer cancels their booking more than 14 days prior to the scheduled experience, a full refund or rescheduling option will be provided. If a customer cancels their booking 7-14 days prior to the experience, a 50% refund will be provided. No refund will be provided for cancellations made within 7 days of the experience, and customers who do not show up for their scheduled experience will not be eligible for a refund or rescheduling.
