Overview

The home is custom-built, designed specifically for vacation getaways. The décor has a mix of modern and traditional rustic appeal. It is meant to be a vacation home that you can share with family and friends or a retreat for renewing and restoring energy.

The Whitecaps property is on the Kraut Point peninsula stretching from Creaser’s Cove on the east to the sandy beach (at low tide) on the west. From the crest in the middle of the property there are panoramic views of the ocean on three sides. Creaser’s Cove is known for its deep waters, a favourite spot among sailors. The Creaser’s Cove side of Whitecaps is the best location for launching kayaks, paddleboards, and other small water craft, while the west side is perfect for beachcombing, walks, and swimming.

This region of Nova Scotia, where the LaHave River meets the Atlantic Ocean, is known for its warm waters. During low tide, explore the private beach surrounding Whitecaps. A warm beach with shallow sand bars is a rare experience on the East Coast. If it’s surf you are looking for, Hirtle’s and Kingsburg beaches are mere minutes away.

We are located 15 kilometres (20 minutes) from Lunenburg, a World Heritage UNESCO site and home of the Bluenose II sailing schooner. In the town you will find restaurants, galleries, a museum, quaint book stores and charming shops near the waterfront. The LaHave ferry is a 5-minute drive from Whitecaps. Park your car or drive on board to explore the south side of the LaHave River.
