Overview

Whitecaps Cabana is a sister cottage to Whitecaps Summit and Whitecaps Retreat, located just far enough for privacy, but close enough if your group is renting more than one cottage.

Whitecaps Cabana is a tiny cottage with big personality. Inspired by traditional fishing stages, the Cabana has been specially designed to create a relaxing and romantic getaway for couples. Its 380 sq ft interior features a king-sized bed, full kitchen, and full bath. It also has an additional outdoor shower for two. The cabana has two french doors that open onto a 300 sq ft deck that looks out over Creaser’s Cove in Riverport, at the mouth of the LaHave River. Half of this deck is covered and screened in, allowing you to leave the French doors open and feel the gentle breeze off the water.

On the roof of the cabana is an additional 500 sq ft upper deck with twin-peaked sun shade roofs. This generous space features a daybed for two, an outdoor kitchen with an electric barbeque, a bar, a lounging area, and a sun deck.

The property is located on a peninsula, giving the guests access to the shoreline on sheltered Creaser’s Cove. Guests can also access a private low tide beach on the south side of Whitecaps property, in the direction looking toward the LaHave Islands and Atlantic ocean. The private beach is a perfect place for romantic strolls with your special someone. The steep driveway and hill to the beach stairs offers a mini workout, pack shoes with a good grip for the climb 🙂 If it’s surf you are looking for, Hirtle’s and Kingsburg beaches are mere minutes away.

Whitecaps Cabana is located 15 minutes from Lunenburg, a World Heritage UNESCO site and home of the Bluenose II sailing schooner. In the town, you will find restaurants, galleries, a museum, quaint book stores, and charming shops near the waterfront. The LaHave ferry is a 5-minute drive from Whitecaps. Park your car and take the ferry across or drive on board to explore the south side of the LaHave River. Cyclists love this route and also use the ferry for exploring the area.
