Located enroute to the Cabot Trail and Cape Breton highlands, a community rich in culture with beautiful views the Bras d’Or Lake, We’koqma’q First Nation is one of five Mi’kmaw communities in Unama’ki (Cape Breton Island), and 13 Mi’kmaw communities in Nova Scotia.
Events and guided tours of the trail are available throughout the year.

1.5 km loop in forested area and along a river leading to the Bras d’Or Lake
Easy to moderate walking
Benches and rest areas located along the trail along with a bridge
Leave no trace, pack in-pack out – leave only your quiet footprints and your stories
Skye River Trail is open year-round. Parking is available on site.
