For over 60 years, the Murphy family has welcomed everyone to come and enjoy the hospitality, adventures, and all that Mother Nature has to offer at one of the most scenic and interactive campgrounds in Nova Scotia.
At Murphy’s Camping on the Ocean, we offer both RV and tent sites, each having a unique set of characteristics. Whether you enjoy a site just metres from the Atlantic Ocean or something a little more secluded, you will surely find a site that suits your preferences. Located adjacent to the “Wild Islands Archipelago”, our campground is perfectly situated for kayaking and boating. With an amazing array of ever-changing seascapes you can enjoy miles of unspoiled coastline while witnessing marine life, such as osprey, eagles, many other seabirds, seals, and porpoise.
Accommodations at Murphy’s Camping on the Ocean include:

Serviced sites are equipped with water and 15/30-amp electrical hook-up.
Upper Deck: a rustic second floor loft camping unit located on the wharf with a fabulous 270° panoramic ocean view. Please bring bedding/linens/towels; washroom facilities located nearby.
NEW in 2025:Seaside Cottage, a 1 bedroom (queen), 1 bathroom cottage with a kitchen and living room with a pull-out sofa and a view overlooking the water
Our new HypeDomes are nestled atop a 35-foot cliff, enjoy panoramic views that overlook Nova Scotia’s 100 Wild Islands, a protected archipelago of over 100 pristine, untouched islands with white sand beaches and crystal clear waters, and offer the ultimate escape into nature with all the cozy comforts of home. These all-weather domes will allow you to stargaze from the cozy queen bed and to start your day sipping coffee or tea while listening to the waves on the shore below.
Each dome has a private deck with chairs and a kitchenette with induction cooktop, kettle, mini fridge, and a water pump with small sink. Guests of the domes have access to the off-grid comfort station located nearby (lit pathway – Flashlights are provided in the domes) while our full service washrooms with showers are located in the campground.

Pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash at all times and must not disturb others. You MUST clean up after your pets. Pets are not permitted in any buildings.
We also offer a number of travel packages that can be added to your stay to ensure that true Maritime experience. Packages include, lobster dinner and kayaking, lobster dinner, and New Scotland breakfast.
This activity is highly subject to the variable weather conditions found along our coast. As a result, we may need to reschedule or cancel for the safety of participants. We will do our best to provide advance notice but last minute cancellations are sometimes required.
