Lionstone Inn, Motel & Cottages is situated on a relaxing three-acre property in the Town of Pictou on the beautiful Northumberland Shore. We are within walking distance to Pictou’s historic waterfront where you will find shops, pubs, restaurants, marinas, museums, as well as explore the Hector Heritage Quay and board the full-sized Ship Hector replica. Pictou is renowned as the “Birthplace of New Scotland” as the first Scottish immigrants landed here in 1773.

While staying with us spend the day at a nearby beach, such as Caribou Beach or Melmerby Beach and enjoy some of the warmest beaches north of the Carolinas. Our 14 motel units include housekeeping units and air-conditioned suites, with king and double beds, 4-piece bath, cable television and cooling fans; most are air-conditioned; one suite (K) has a corner whirlpool, DVD player, microwave and fridge. Our 14 guest cottages (double and single beds; 7 housekeeping; 13 seasonal and 1 year-round), provide a 3-piece (shower) or 4-piece bath, cable television, and free wireless Internet access.

Our 2-bedroom unit is a high-end, air-conditioned suite, complete with luxury living room, kitchen and beautiful bathroom.

All of our accommodations are non-smoking. Pets are welcome in our cottages only.

  • In order for us to accommodate everyone it is important that we receive any requests for cancellation 48 hours in advance (by 6:00 p.m. two days before your scheduled arrival day).  If for whatever reason you fail to notify us of your change in plans and we are unable to rent your room, we will charge the cost of a single night's stay to your credit card.
