The deCoste Performing Arts Centre is the premier professional performing arts venue in northeastern Nova Scotia for cultural and entertaining experiences that include musical performances of all genres and theatrical performances including musicals, comedians and more!
Located on the beautiful Pictou waterfront as part of the deCoste Culture Hub (a partnership with the Murray Family Public Library (Pictou Branch of PARL) and Creative Pictou County). The 400-seat facility features a state-of-the-art sound, video and lighting system. Flexible, non-fixed, seating makes it also a great location for conferences, meetings, special events, weddings, and so much more. The Culture Hub also boasts an art gallery in the Murray Room.
The deCoste Performing Arts Centre has long been a cherished gathering place for Pictou County and Northern Nova Scotia residents. The latest expansion and upgrades prioritize creating a barrier-free environment to welcome the entire community. The new facility now boasts external and internal ramps, mechanical lifts, barrier-free washrooms and an enhanced hearing assist system, among other improvements. To further this commitment, they have launched the Arts for All program, designed to eliminate barriers for those with physical, social and economic barriers. The community is encouraged to contact the deCoste team to discuss needs and ideas.
The box office hours are Monday to Friday between 10 am to 4 pm, but is closed for all federal and provincial government holidays. Information regarding show dates, times and locations can be found at decostecentre.ca.
