Foodie Travel Packages Full of Local Winter Flavours
Escape hibernation mode and pack some seriously delicious flavours into your winter. Nova Scotia offers culinary packages for everyone’s taste!
Harvest season in Nova Scotia is a favourite time of year, especially at one of our 20+ wineries. Vineyards are seemingly bursting with grapes on the vines, waiting to be picked any day. Colourful fall foliage provides the perfect backdrop for sipping Tidal Bay on cozy patios. Cool, crisp sweater weather is ideal for walks in the vineyard, or an outdoor lunch paired with a glass of wine.
Meet for lunch at a winery. Several offer options ranging from quick bites and charcuterie boards to wood-fired pizzas, seafood, salads, and sandwiches that pair perfectly with the wines they produce. Enjoy picturesque vineyard views as you dine overlooking the soon-to-be-harvested vines.
After lunch, pick up a couple of bottles to enjoy later at home.
Let someone else do the driving, so you can visit with an experienced tour guide and enjoy a variety of Nova Scotia wineries. Whether you prefer a sommelier-led coach tour departing from Halifax, or an intimate small group experience, — relax and enjoy your day visiting multiple boutique wineries and learning what makes each unique.

Nova Scotia has its own appellation wine called Tidal Bay. Fourteen wineries across Nova Scotia produce their own unique version of Tidal Bay, adhering to strict requirements, including using 100% Nova Scotia-grown grapes. Although they all follow the same guidelines, each winery that produces Tidal Bay presents its own version of the wine.
Stop by for a tasting and pick up a bottle as a gift or to enjoy with fresh Nova Scotia seafood – it’s the ultimate perfect pairing!
In addition to tastings and tours, many wineries offer special events throughout the season. Check ahead of your visit to see if something extra might await you when you arrive, such as live music, special tastings, gourmet dinners, or even yoga!
For something truly unique, check out the red phone booth in the vines at Luckett Vineyards (yes, you can make calls on it!), stay overnight at the Inn at Grand Pré Winery, Beausoleil Farmstead or The Stay at Planters Ridge, savour an outdoor tasting at Blomidon Estate Winery, gather around the bonfire at Benjamin Bridge Vineyards, bike into the vineyard at Gaspereau Vineyards or glamp in the vineyard at Bent Ridge Winery.
