Outdoor Activities, Parks, Trails and Tours

  • Inverness Beach: Nova Scotia’s first wheelchair accessible beach is outfitted with mobi mats, mobi water chairs, sand chairs and walkers. Accessible picnic table on a cement platform overlooks the beach while the nearby accessible boardwalk, providing beach and golf course views, is across from the accessible parking spots by the beach canteen.
  • TNT Outdoor Adventures: Offering year-round side-by-side tours that are equipped with standard automotive seat belts and space in cargo area to secure a folded wheelchair. Offering narrated tours for visually impaired clients as well. Their Headquarters building is wheelchair accessible and has an accessible washroom.
  • Gondola at Cape Smokey is wheelchair accessible.
  • Ingonish Beach & Freshwater Lake: Public washrooms with accessible stalls and two wheelchair accessible picnic sites. Access mat and one beach wheelchair available at Freshwater Lake with ramp and decking to the sand beach during July and August.
  • Freshwater Lake Trail: Wheelchair accessible 1.7 km trail.
