Built by prominent Canadian railway entrepreneurs, Sir William MacKenzie and Sir Donald Mann circa 1905, the Chester Train Station was once a full service train station built for their Halifax and South Western Railway Company. Today, visitors to the Chester Train Station can visit:
The Chester Train Station also hosts the weekly Chester Farmers’ & Artisan Market and community events and celebrations such as Chester’s popular Canada Day celebrations. Visitors to the Chester area can also access the Chester Connection Trail, a 46 km multi modal trail that stretches along the former railway line from Martins River to Hubbards, from the Chester Train Station property.
