Easy Escape: Halifax to Truro in a Weekend

Depart Halifax late morning and arrive in Truro just after 1pm. Start your visit at the Red Knot Bakery with coffee and a fresh-baked treat.

From here, tailor the afternoon to your travel style.

Rent a bike from Bike Monkey and head to Victoria Park, known for its scenic trails and waterfalls. Or, explore the trails by foot and climb the challenging Jacob’s Ladder. Kids will love the splash pad and pool during the summertime.

For a more low-key afternoon, stroll Inglis Street browsing local shops like Alderberry Village Craft Cooperative, Take it Outside, or Forage Boutique. Visit the Colchester Historeum for a look at local history.

To explore more of the area, take a taxi ride to Millbrook Cultural & Heritage Centre to learn more about Mi’kmaw culture. Experience the tidal bore at the Fundy Discovery Site. After exploring, make your way back to the station and enjoy the scenic ride to Halifax.
