Advance Declaration

Use Advance Declaration to submit your customs and immigration declaration to the Canada Border Services Agency up to 72 hours in advance of your arrival in Canada. When flying internationally into Nova Scotia, Advance Declaration is available to all travellers arriving at Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ).

Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA)

As of March 15, 2016, most international visitors to Canada now require an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) before they are allowed to board an international flight departing for Canada. This authorization is required in addition to a passport. The authorization is not required for U.S. citizens, travellers with a valid visa, or visitors travelling by road or sea.
