- See Sable Island’s seasonal splendour:
- Fall sees a variety of migrating bird species getting ready to depart the island before winter. As the grass turns amber, Sable’s famed wild horses begin to grow their wild winter coats.
- Winter casts a magical glow over the island’s stark beauty and rolling dunes. Witness one of the most spectacular wildlife events in Eastern Canada as more than 300,000 grey seals arrive to battle, breed, and give birth on the island.
- Return helicopter and shuttle transportation plus pick up and drop off in downtown Halifax with Picture Perfect Tours. Enjoy a round-trip helicopter flight with Vision Air Services from Halifax Stanfield International Airport (about 1.5 hours each way).
- Your experienced guide takes care of all trip details and ensures you and the wildlife stay safe as you explore this amazing island. Park fees and welcome orientation of Sable Island with Parks Canada staff are also included.

Good to Know:
- **When booking this excursion in the fall, guests must also be available for the day following the tour date. This two-day travel window is due to unpredictable island weather and landing conditions. Winter excursions have a three-day travel window that you must be available for in Halifax.
- Please expect to walk/hike between 6 km and 8 km in soft sand. Depending on where the tour locates wildlife, you may travel anywhere from 6 km to 10 km.
- This trip has a maximum group size of 7 guests to ensure personalized attention.
- Please expect cooler temperatures on the island. Dress in layers and in comfortable, active clothing for the time of year and weather. Wear comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots for walking in sand.
- Bring your favourite packable lunch/snacks and a water bottle. There is potable water on the island to refill. A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are also necessary.
- Don’t forget your camera!
