Deanne Fitzpatrick is a celebrated artist and writer, exhibited widely, including two solo exhibits at The Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. Deanne holds an honorary doctorate from Mount Saint Vincent University and was awarded The Order of Canada for her contribution to the advancement of rug hooking as an art form. Learn more.

Workshop dates and themes:

• Friday, October 16, 2026: Blending and Colour: the importance of blending and colour work in all aspects of rug hooking to create strong, sensitive combinations, light and shade, and experiment with colour and texture. Sold out. Join the October 16 waitlist.
• Friday, November 5, 2026 (Sold Out): Blending and Colour: the importance of blending and colour work in all aspects of rug hooking to create strong, sensitive combinations, light and shade, and experiment with colour and texture.
• January 22, 2027: Hooking your life in an abstract rug: Choose a colour palette, words, or phrases that represent your life. Learn to create words and writing in a hooked rug and create a background around it.
• March 19, 2027: Blending and Colour: Back by popular demand! Learn the importance of blending and colour work in all aspects of rug hooking to create strong, sensitive combinations, light and shade, and experiment with colour and texture.

Cost: $295.00 + tax, per person.
