Overview

Experience the life of a printer’s apprentice in the 1860s at Sherbrooke Village Museum, an authentic living history village.

Spend the day working alongside Sherbrooke’s Master Printer in the riverside print shop. In the 1800s, it took 7 years to become a Master Printer, and at Sherbrooke Village, there resides such a tradesperson! Get swept up in the hustle and bustle of the print shop, while working as the Master Printer’s apprentice or “Printer’s Devil”. Have fun learning the fine art of print pressing, cut paper using Sherbrooke’s 150-year-old print cutter, and run the foot-powered print press—creating memories and souvenirs that will last a lifetime.

Experience Includes:

  • Day Admission to Sherbrooke Village Museum, an authentic living history museum with 25 original buildings and costumed interpreters.
  • Half-day, guided print press experience: Get dressed in period clothing and work alongside a Master Printer. Learn the skills of the trade and create your own keepsake to take home. Will it be a favorite recipe from the Printer’s galley, personalized party invitations, or your own unique business cards that YOU made with your own two hands?
