Photographers’ Boat Tour with Bird Island Boat Tours

Experience the Bird Islands off Cape Breton Island – the seasonal home and nesting destination of migratory Atlantic Puffins – to capture nature at its finest on the Bird Island Boat Tours’ Photography Boat Tour adventure.

Photographers’ tours run on specific dates between June 15 and July 31 and depart at 5:30pm. These tours offer a less narrated experience that is geared towards providing photographers with the best opportunity for capturing great nature photos. Bird Island Boat Tour captain, Captain Ian, is also a photographer and can share information and tips about types of lens ans tripods to consider, how to capture photos on a moving boat, etc. to help set you up for success.

The maximum amount of passengers on this special tour is limited to 18 to allow for more room.

2026 Photographers’ Boat Tour dates:

• June: every Monday, Wednesday and Friday except Monday, June 22
  • tour also offered on Sunday, June 21
• July: every Monday, Wednesday and Friday except Monday, July 20
  • tour also offered on Sunday, July 19

Price: $91.20 per person (HST included)

Tour Departure: 5:30 pm

Tour Length: Photography tours may run 3+ hours in length, depending on what photo opportunities present on each specific tour.
