Forging Lunenburg Memories

Get a glimpse into the art of bladesmithing with award-winning smith, Rick Marchand, before swinging the hammer and crafting your own forged keepsake!

Welcome to the Wildertools forge, walking distance from the historic town of Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site! Blacksmiths, known as the “village smithy” were an integral part of historic communities. Are you curious about the craft and how Wildertools creates their award-winning knives? Want to try something new and have a few laughs? If so, this experience is for you! Rick’s award-winning blades have also been featured in 20th Century Fox’s War for the Planet of the Apes and Disney’s Jungle Cruise.

Package Includes:.

• Guided introduction into the art of bladesmithing with professional smith, Rick Marchand, whose clients include local chefs, international knife collectors and the Hollywood film industry
• Hands-on forging demonstration to see how Rick crafts his award-winning blades.
• Create your own custom piece: swing a hammer at hot steel and use the skills of the trade to craft your own forged piece
• Flavours of Lunenburg gift basket, including a selection of locally roasted coffee from Laughing Whale Coffee Roasters, as well as flavours and products from local business partners

Price: $380 for two people (includes one gift basket); $660 for four people (includes two gift baskets)

Wildertools forge is accessible, so mobility challenges should not prevent you from experiencing the art of bladesmithing.

Conditions:

Advance booking required. Participants must be 8 years of age or older. Young spectators must be accompanied by an adult. Maximum of four participants and up to four spectators (8 people in total). There is no charge for spectators.
