The Oasis Motel & Campground is embraced by the rolling hills just east of the town of Antigonish. Located in Lower South River, just four minutes east of downtown Antigonish and St. FX University, the Oasis Motel is ideally located as a starting point for visits to Cape Breton and Prince Edward Island as well as the perfect homebase during local events such as the annual Antigonish Highland Games; Riverside Speedway car races; graduation, sporting events and homecoming festivities at St. FX University, Theatre Antigonish productions, and more. We are also close to beautiful Northumberland Shore beaches, fantastic restaurants and cafes in the town of Antigonish and so much more!
Our motel units are open year-round and have a Canada Select 3.5-star rating which was achieved by having all rooms pleasingly renovated. Motel units and the one bedroom cottage include flat-screen TVs with satellite television and heat pump/air conditioners are a few of the upgrades in all 13 rooms and a one bedroom cottage located in the campground directly behind the motel. Free continental breakfast, Wi-Fi, and access to the outdoor swimming pool in the campground are value-added extras for those staying in the motel units.
Open from early May to mid-October each year, our two-level campground is separated by a pastoral setting which contain plum, cherry, apple, pear and mixed softwood and hardwood trees, offers 31 serviced campsites with water, electricity (30Amp) and sewer hookups; ten of those are seasonal. Eight unserviced sites are available for tenting.

We are located just a four minute drive away from the town of Antigonish on the old Trunk Hwy 4. Sandy beaches are within a short drive including Pomquet Beach and Bayfield Beach and there are a number of hiking trails to explore in Antigonish County. For mountain bikers, Keppoch Mountain offers miles of mountain biking trails on a former alpine ski hill. The Antigonish Highland Games, the Riverside Speedway, St. FX University and the Antigonish Golf Course attract sports-minded people from afar, not to mention the rising popularity of the tuna fish charters.
