Overview
Milford House Cabins is situated in the village of South Milford, Annapolis County in the Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley region.
In business for over 150 years, Milford House is one of the most historic outdoor enthusiasts’ destinations in Nova Scotia offering rustic lakeside cabins surrounded by acres of tranquil natural woodlands making it the perfect vacation experience for families or for a romantic getaway. Guests can enjoy bird watching from your cabin porch or explore acres of scenic woodlands by canoeing on the Milford lakes or hiking on our numerous trails. Our freshwater lakes with a floating dock are great for swimming, both with sandy beaches! We also have tennis courts, croquet on the front lawn and a wonderful enclosed toddlers’ playground with a children’s playground nearby.
Make us your home base while exploring our beautiful region. Historic Annapolis Royal founded in 1605 offers many unique attractions and sites such as the Historic Gardens, Fort Anne National Park, and the Port Royal Historic Site. Bear River, known as ‘little Switzerland’ is a picturesque village at the head of a tidal river with quirky artisan’s shops, restaurants and a small heritage museum and visitor information centre. Wilderness enthusiasts can explore Kejimkujik National Park, the only inland National Park of Canada in the Maritimes which features abundant lakes and rivers, ideal for canoeing as well as beautiful hiking and cycling trails.
Our accommodations include 28 rustic cabins situated on 2 lakes (2- to 5-bedroom; queen, double and single beds; 3 winterized housekeeping cabins): each with 3- or 4-piece bath, living room with a fireplace, deck and dock on the wilderness lakes. Please note that there is no television, radio, or telephone in our cabins. Cots and cribs are available.
Guest features include a licensed dining room, library, parlour, screened veranda, laundry service and wireless Internet access in our lodge. Complimentary coffee and tea is available in our lodge. Picnic lunches may be ordered. Canoe and kayak rentals are available. Dry wood and kindling are delivered to the cottages daily.
Pets are permitted in the cabins but are restricted from the main lodge and front lawns; owners must clean up after their pets.
Visa and MasterCard are accepted.
Cancellation Policy: For cancellations made more than 14 days in advance of the first day of occupancy, there is a fee of $50 for bookings of 5 nights or fewer and a fee of $100 for bookings of 6 nights or more. For cancellations made within 14 days of the first day of occupancy the entire deposit is forfeited. A deposit of $100 per cabin is charged immediately to the credit card at time of reservation for the first night and $50 is charged for each additional night booked.
