Covid-19 message: The Laurie Swim Gallery is now open to the public from Monday to Saturday, 11am -4pm. We are following provincial guidelines to assure the safety of our visitors and staff and we welcome you to come and see the exciting art on display in our newly renovated heritage space.

Overview

An award-winning visual artist and author, who is nationally and internationally recognized; Laurie creates painterly works of art in fabric and thread portraying the landscapes and people of the South Shore.

 

With a newly renovated and expanded space, and in addition to longtime gallery artist Chippie

Kennedy, Laurie has added the following Nova Scotian artists;

  • Nadine Belliveau, of Baie-Sainte Marie, NS, explores the essence of nature by means of abstraction and decorative expression through her work in acrylics.
  • Heather Waugh-Pitts, of Dartmouth, NS, is a renaissance woman, working as a potter, painter and interiors/fabric designer, communicating authentic, raw beauty through her work in porcelain.
  • New artists are to be added for the 2023 season.
