Overview

Chart your course for one of the world’s most spectacular coastlines. Make us your next port of call.

Nova Scotia’s magnificent coastline, dotted with endless inlets, coves, and harbours, stretches over 7,000 kilometres (more than 4,300 miles) – including the numerous islands, it’s over 13,300 kilometres (8,300 miles). Offering a collection of incredible boating opportunities and ports of call around the province, with rich cultural, adventure and culinary tourism experiences in both rural and urban settings, and marine-related supply and service businesses with proven expertise.

Situated as a gateway to the pristine waters of Atlantic Canada, Nova Scotia is a strategic destination for expeditions exploring the North including Newfoundland and Labrador, the Northwest Passage and Greenland. We are also a strategic location for passages to and from Europe and a natural extension of the Northeast Seaboard that has established yacht itineraries for cruising New England and Maine.

Nova Scotia Marine Services offers high quality, safe berths in historic downtown Halifax, Bedford and in Lunenburg, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. Free daytime berthing is available with overnight berthing at competitive rates.

In Halifax, 3000ft of floating docks are available to local and visiting boaters, with capacity to accommodate up to 250ft vessels with certain locations allowing for drafts up to 32ft. Power, water, waste, security and Wi-Fi are also available on request. As Atlantic Canada’s first Blue Flag Award Winner, the Halifax waterfront is recognized for meeting high environmental standards.

In Lunenburg, 300ft of floating docks are available for vessels up to 150ft with fixed wharf space and a dinghy dock also available.

Whether you visit by power or sail, for recreation or work, we have a berth for you. Minutes from fine dining, pubs and cafes, events and activities, entertainment, shopping, museums, galleries and more.

We support local and international regattas, host visiting yachts and Tall Ships, and berth tour boat operators at our wharves. All major credit cards are accepted and we are a member of the US Superyacht Association. For more sailing adventures and ideas across Nova Scotia, visit novascotia.com/boating.
