Five Islands Lighthouse Park
From May 10, 2025 to October 13, 2025
Enjoy a spectacular view that changes with the tide at this coastal park. Breathe the salty, fresh air. Feel the wind off the Bay.
You won’t feel crowded here. Five Islands Lighthouse Park has 8.8 ha (22 acres) of open parkland, almost 300 m (1000 feet) of oceanfront and access to a long, gravel beach.
The historic lighthouse is the star attraction of Five Islands Lighthouse Park. It stands like a beacon, welcoming to the park visitors from near and far. This wooden, “pepper pot” lighthouse was built in 1913 at nearby Sand Point. In 2008 it had to be relocated and now sits perfectly in its new home overlooking the islands. The lighthouse is a municipal heritage property.
The lighthouse is closed to the public until further notice, however, visitors can enjoy the surrounding park which includes a unique ship playground for the kids (ship ahoy!), walking paths (1 km) to stretch your legs, and benches and hammocks where you can relax and enjoy the view. A large picnic shelter provides shade, and accessible washrooms are open and serviced daily from May to October. An original, starboard hand buoy is another unique feature in the park.
The park’s panoramic view includes all Five Islands as well as the Old Wife (part of Five Islands Provincial Park), the Brothers (also known as Two Islands), Cape Blomidon and Cape Split. This is notably among the best scenery in the Bay of Fundy.
Five Islands Lighthouse Park is owned and operated by the Municipality of Colchester and is part of the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark.
Electric vehicle charging available onsite (1 x Universal SAE J1772 connector, level 2).
Dogs on leash are permitted in the park; please clean up after your dog. Motorized vehicles are prohibited in the park.
Enjoy the view safely. Keep back from the steep bank, it is actively eroding.
To access the beach, walk to the end of Broderick Lane. If you go on the mudflats use caution and beware of the fast-rising, incoming tide. Do not attempt to walk to the islands. The channels fill first, and quickly, and you can be trapped by the tide.
park open daily 8am–8pm
