Devil’s Bend Trail meanders 6km through valleys and high atop great sandstone cliffs, along the Economy River to the historic Economy Falls.
Trailhead: To access the trail, follow Route 2 to Economy. Turn North onto River Phillip Road. Follow River Phillip Rd for 2.5km and the trailhead is on the right. This road is not paved or managed. It is very rough and not suitable for vehicles with a low carriage. Exercise extreme caution and use at own risk.
Significant Features: Wilderness views, challenging climbs, quiet riverside meadows, wildlife, wildflowers and mature forests.

Hiking Time: 3.5 hours
Devil’s Bend Trail begins on privately owned lands leading into the Economy River Wilderness Protected Area. Trail head parking lot accommodates 9 vehicles.
The trail takes you through a dramatic landscape of cliffs and valleys, look-offs and mature forests. Along the way hikers may spot white-tailed deer or black bear crossing the river or bald eagles flying overhead.
The Devil’s Bend look-off stands 50 metres over the river that is sculpted by wind and rain into an intricate series of wave-like cornices.
Recommended season is from June 1st to October (Thanksgiving weekend).
