Overview

The Dartmouth Heritage Museum uses storytelling to inform the public and create community bonds at two historic houses. Evergreen House is a restored Victorian home that features exhibits exploring the history of Dartmouth through the lens of its location on Dartmouth Cove and as the former home of nationally acclaimed folklorist Helen Creighton. Quaker House is one of the oldest homes in Dartmouth, built in the late 1700s. Discover the history of the Quaker whalers and downtown Dartmouth in a truly unique setting.

With over 14 000 photographs, a rich artifact collection, historic and genealogical files, the Dartmouth Heritage Museum has much to offer research enthusiasts.
