Pomquet Acadian Trail
Open year-round
Chez Deslauriers is located in the small Acadian community of Pomquet, 20 km east of Antigonish, on the shores of St. George’s Bay.
Chez Deslauriers, a refurbished 19th century heritage home, houses a small restaurant, an interpretive centre outlining the history of Pomquet and the surrounding area, and a 6 km stacked loop trail system (Pomquet Acadian Trails). The restaurant is open each Friday (11am to 2pm) from the beginning of July to the end of August. Visitors can enjoy traditional Acadian cuisine in a friendly and picturesque setting. As well, two lobster roll dinner events are held each year (August 7th and September 11th, 2016, from 3pm to 6pm) and include a BBQ, craft sale, and local entertainment on the outdoor stage attached to the interpretive centre.
The property is administered by the Pomquet Development Society, a community volunteer group.
