Caldera Distilling
From June 14, 2025 to September 20, 2025
Caldera pays tribute to the heritage of craftsmen and explorers of all Nova Scotia. Our spirits are proudly distilled, barrelled, aged and bottled in River John.
River John, on Nova Scotia’s beautiful north shore, has a remarkable history. Founded by explorers and settled by shipbuilders and farmers, this little port gained worldwide attention for the craftsmanship of their clippers and flourishing agricultural export market.
Our handcrafted blended whisky is a traditional drink made from our season’s homegrown and regional grains. The spiciness of the rye is balanced out on the finish to produce a nice sharp start and a mellow end. Just as we never know what’s going to blow ashore during a hurricane, you get to enjoy the surprise of subtle differences in flavour with each new release. Our award winning Hurricane 5 whisky is available for purchase at the distillery tasting room, housed in the very same barn that inspired its name.
You’re invited to join us for tours, workshops, and tastings all season so stay tuned to our facebook page for event information.
