Open year-round
Brier Island Lodge offers oceanfront accommodations and restaurant with a magnificent view, along with whale watching boat tours located in Westport on Brier Island, which is part of the Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley region. We are situated on a bluff, 130 feet above sea level overlooking Grand Passage, Peter’s Island, St Mary’s Bay and the Village of Westport.
Our accommodations include 38 rooms (most with ocean/lighthouse view) with ensuite 4-piece bath. A kitchenette suite/apartment is available for rent year-round. Cribs available at no charge; cots are available. Enjoy the spectacular panoramic waterfront view from our dining room as you taste the regional dishes of Brier Island. Our dining room is open for breakfast and dinner during high season (June 21 – September 21). During our low season, our dining room is open depending on demand.
We accept pets in select rooms; however, they must be supervised, kept on-leash, and under control at all times. If your pet does not get along with other animals or loves to chase little critters/birds, we ask that you not bring them for the safety and happiness of both our pets and yours.
We are a proud member of the Tourism Industry Association of Nova Scotia and Canada Select (3 1/2 stars). All major credit cards are accepted as well as Union Pay.
Brier Island
Brier Island is one of Nova Scotia’s eco-tourism destinations and is situated where the world-famous Bay of Fundy begins. Enjoy world class whale watching, evening island cruises, nature trails, a seal colony, beautiful sand and cobble-stone beaches, wildflowers and a petting farm.
A rugged diamond in Nova Scotia’s crown, Brier Island is home to an industrious seafaring people, an amazing variety of flora and fauna, some of the best sunsets you will ever see and the opportunity to explore one of the richest marine habitats and coastal environments in the world.
Rock hounds can find quartz, agate, jasper, amethyst and even zeolite along our rocky shores. Being on the Atlantic Flyway Migratory Route, the area hosts hundreds of varieties of birds throughout the year.
Accessible by two short ferry rides from the end of Digby Neck, Brier Island offers a truly different pace of life for residents and visitors alike. The fishing boats still come and go as they have done for generations, the whales swim by as they have done since time immemorial, and the eternal tides rise and fall like clockwork.
For those who are looking for an escape from hustle and bustle, it does not matter if you visit Brier Island in the warm sunshine or cloaked in mysterious fog – you can’t help but relax and slow down while you’re here.
