It all began with two friends, a bootlegging and boatbuilding heritage, and an old boat shop in Lower West Pubnico. Legend has it that during the 1920s, rumrunners and bootleggers would bury barrels of liquor (kegs) on and around our site, hiding them from law enforcement. This history of ‘boats’ and ‘kegs’ inspired our name!
Our mission is to bring you a new era of ‘old fashioned good times’ at our restored boatbuilding shop turned craft distillery and cocktail bar. Savour classic cocktails and Boatskeg Distilling Co. signature creations in one of our popular cocktail flights. Enjoy local snacks and bites provided by nearby Wild Roots Restaurant.
Sample our Salted Caramel flavoured vodka and Bootleg vodka, distilled in small batches with a focus on creating a product perfect for cocktails. We are wheelchair accessible and offer a selection of mocktails and local craft beers, as well as an on-site retail shop so you can bring some Boatskeg Distilling Co. home with you for your own signature cocktail creations.
We have White and Amber rum available for purchase, as well as three different vodka based canned products.
We’re located just minutes from Le Village historique acadien de la Nouvelle-Écosse, 35-minutes from downtown Yarmouth and 25-minutes from Barrington, the Lobster Capital of Canada. Wheelchair accessible.
