Discover a rare example of a brick masonry Queen Anne Revival house when you stay at Blackwood’s Bread & Roses Inn in historic Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia.
This registered Heritage Property dates back to the early 1880s and features an elegant entrance hall with a broad and winding staircase, beautiful woodwork and etched glass windows. Equipped with comfortable armchairs, sofas, a coffee table and a period round table ideally suited for card games, the parlour at Blackwood’s Bread and Roses is a great place to unwind with a little music, wait for a friend or sit and chat with fellow visitors. This cozy and inviting room welcomes natural lighting from the large bay windows and features dark hardwood, cranberry coloured walls, an elaborate 19th century fireplace mantel and inset, and the Inn’s modest library contained in bookcases that lead up to the 12′ high ceiling.
The accommodations at this historic inn include eight bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom. Our largest suite, the Storybook Room, features two bedrooms and a shared private bathroom. Guests will start each day of their stay off with an English-style hot buffet breakfast that is served between 8am and 10am. We are able to accommodation gluten-free and vegan requests; please let us know of any allergies or dietary restrictions upon booking.
Discover cozy places to sit by our ponds, fountains and gardens that are nestled among the trees on our property while the Inn’s porches also offer our guests private spots to relax. If you’re lucky, you may get to see one of the many deer that quietly roam on our grounds.
