Overview

From Hwy 103, Exit 33. The oldest standing courthouse & jail (gaol) in Canada (a National Historic Site), built in 1805 and restored in 1982. Museum offers guided tours: cell-block, jail-keepers’ quarters, furnished courtroom, grand jury room and judges’ chambers. Archives/Research center next door open year-round.

 

Hours of operation

  • Museum: June 1 to September 30, Monday to Friday: 10 am – 4 pm
  • Archives: open year-round, Monday to Friday: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm (closed: 12 pm – 1 pm)
