Overview
It’s hard not to fall in love with the aroma of fresh wood chips and the sights of the St. Mary’s River through the shop’s window. With our Heritage Artisan, discover the sense of pride you get in using traditional tools and techniques to create your very own family heirloom. Woodturner, Marley Langille, welcomes you to experience the joy, frustrations and imagination of the woodturning shop while she guides you in making your very own wooden spoon.
Experience Includes:
- 6-hour workshop with the heritage Artisan; plus 45-minute lunch break and 15-minute afternoon break
- 10% discount to McDaniel’s Tea Room
- Demonstration and hands-on learning session with Artisan
- Your very own piece of history to take home with you

To make the most of this experience, we suggest planning ahead. Here a few things to keep in mind:
- Please arrive by 9:45 a.m. and check-in at the Visitor Reception Centre. Staff will direct you to the Woodturning Shop.
- Participants are welcome to bring their own packed lunch or enjoy a lunch at the Tea Room with your discount.
- For safety reasons, wear closed toed shoes and pants. Aprons will be issued by the Woodturner
- This experience will take place rain or shine.
- Bring a water bottle
Offered: Wednesday to Sunday during open season (June to September). Reservations required 48 hours ahead of time.
Price: Starts at $150 + HST (all materials included) per person
*Participants must be age 16 and up. Maximum capacity for this workshop is 3 people. All tools and materials are provided for use during the program.

Cancellation policy: Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior are non-refundable. Participants will be notified 48 hours in advance if experience is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
Late arrival will not be allotted additional time for their workshop. There is no guarantee that the product will be completed by the end of the workshop.

1. Is the Woodturning Shop wheel-chair accessible?
Yes, the Woodturning Shop is wheel-chair accessible. Please notify the Village of any accessibility needs when booking the workshop to ensure the Artisan can make any necessary adjustments to the space.
2. Can I take pictures during the workshop?

3. What if I arrive late for my workshop?
We understand sometimes a buggy can get stuck in the mud. If you think you are going to be late, please send us a message to let us know.
