Overview

Hike along the ocean floor at low tide to Clarke Head Arch in the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark. Then, head to downtown Parrsboro for a flight of local craft brews at Two Islands Brewing Company!

Package Includes:

  • Enjoy a fun guided hike along 6 km of breathtaking Bay of Fundy coastline in the Cliffs of Fundy UNESCO Global Geopark to Clarke Head Arch, a unique Geosite in the Geopark.
  • See extraordinary prehistoric rock formations, created more than 200 million years ago when Morocco and Nova Scotia were once connected before the separation of Pangaea.
  • Hear expert insights from your guide, Anna, Outdoor Council of Canada certified field leader and GeoPark Ambassador. See diverse geology and stunning coastal scenery and learn to identify a variety of rocks and minerals in the Geopark.
  • Relax after your hike with craft beer tasting flights at Two Islands Brewing. Customize your flight with four unique brews.

Availability: Offered year-round except for Mondays and Wednesdays. Please note that a specific tour time will be confirmed upon booking as it is based on daily fluctuating tide times.
** The Clarke Head Arch Ocean Floor Tour (tour only) is available year-round on most days during low tide, rain or shine.

Cost: $200 for 1-2 participants or $240 for up to 4 participants. Tour can accommodate up to 6 total participants for an additional per person fee.

Good to know:

  • Duration & distance: 2.5 – 3 hours, 6 km (including return).
  • Meeting point: The gate/parking area at Glooscap Park Campground (a geosite within the Geopark), 1380 Two Islands Road (6 km from Parrsboro). Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the tour start time, which will be confirmed once your tour is booked.
  • There is a public washroom at Parrsboro Tim Hortons (4019 Eastern Ave, Parrsboro, NS B0M 1T0) and a vaulted toilet available nearby the trail head in Glooscap Park Campground.
  • What to wear and bring: Hat, hiking boots or, at a minimum, runners with sturdy tread are a must. Dress in layers to keep the wind/sun out. The weather can be unpredictable. Bring a daypack with drinking water and your preferred snacks. If you would like to take pictures, bring your camera with a fully charged battery. Rain ponchos available upon request.
  • Two Islands Brewing is closed on Mondays & Wednesdays in the fall and winter and is open from 1 pm – 10 pm Thursday through Saturday, 1 pm – 8 pm on Tuesdays and 1 pm – 6 pm on Sundays.
  • A non-alcoholic beverage is available for beer flight substitution at Two Islands Brewing.
  • Interested in staying overnight in Parrsboro? Stay at Gillespie House Inn in the heart of Parrsboro. Gillespie House Inn is open over the late-fall and winter months by appointment only.

  • Advance booking is required; tour times depend on the tides and are different every day. All tours require a minimum of 1 person, max 6. Cancellations must be made at least 72 hours in advance of scheduled tours. If your tour is cancelled due to poor weather conditions, there will be no charge, and Tide Rollers & Mudlarkers will try to rebook your tour.
