At The Arms, you might feel as though you’ve hopped across the pond and into a classic iconic English Hotel restaurant.
The English part is true, but you’re still in the heart of downtown Halifax. Steeped in British heritage, settle in under the warm glow of our white tin ceiling to share a pint, a plate of nachos, and a story or two. Enjoy classic dishes and those with international influence for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Seafood lovers will find plenty to savour on the menu, from a rich seafood chowder brimming with butter-poached lobster, salmon, Digby scallops, and shrimp to a lobster roll served on a garlic butter-toasted potato bun with crisp red cabbage slaw. Dinner highlights include seared Digby scallops paired with corn velouté, fingerling potatoes, snap peas, chive oil, and a spiced asiago crumb. These thoughtfully prepared dishes offer a taste of Nova Scotia’s coastal bounty in an elegant downtown setting.
Hotel guests, Haligonians, and those passing through town are all welcome at The Arms. Lively conversation and inventive cocktails are always flowing, and our location in the historic Lord Nelson Hotel & Suites lends an air of refinement and nostalgia. The pristine Halifax Public Gardens are just across the street, adding even more European flair to our special section of Spring Garden Road.
The Arms is wheelchair accessible and a stop on the Nova Scotia Lobster Trail and Nova Scotia Chowder Trail.
