Open year-round
Join Shakespeare By The Sea (SBTS), Atlantic Canada’s longest-running outdoor theatre festival, as they kick off summer 2026 with the world premiere of the new family musical, Beauty & the Beast: A Fairy-Tale Game-Show Musical. This musical reimagines Beauty and the Beast through the chaotic world of gameshow television, bringing a modern, comedic edge to the classic “tale as old as time.”
Julius Caesar storms the Cambridge Battery with a bold, new staging bringing betrayal, ambition, and political chaos vividly to life. Packed with tension, power struggle, and emotional intensity, Julius Caesar delivers a gripping night of theatre under the stars where every decision changes history and no one leaves unscathed.
The SBTS season concludes on Sunday, August 30, 2026 with the one-night-only, must-see event – The Unrehearsed Hamlet – where anything can (and will) happen. For this one-night-only spectacular, the SBTS cast will learn their lines, craft their own costumes, and embrace the unpredictable magic of live, unrehearsed theatre. Will it be chaos? Absolutely. Will it be heartfelt, hilarious, and totally unforgettable? We hope so!
All performances take place at the Cambridge Battery inside beautiful Point Pleasant Park via an accessible pathway approximately a 15 minute walk from the Park’s upper parking lot. Performances begin at 7:00 pm, Tuesday to Sunday, from July 4 to August 30. Seats can be purchased on ShakespeareByTheSea.ca or you can pay at the venue on the evening of the performance.
