Overview

The Pugwash Salt Express Trail is a scenic multi-use route built along a former railbed just outside Pugwash. About 12 km out-and-back and mostly flat, it’s perfect for a casual walk, run, or bike ride, plus snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in winter, while ATV and side-by-side riders can also enjoy sections of the trail. Along the way, you’ll cross charming bridges, take in peaceful views of the countryside and waterways, and even connect with the larger Trans Canada Trail network.

Access to the Pugwash Salt Express Trail at the Crowley Road trailhead near the salt mine, where parking is available.
